Winter Cross Country Competitions

Winter competition is conducted on Saturday mornings, April to September, at different venues around Hobart commencing at 10.00 a.m.

Courses are varied and interesting and include smooth scenic runs as well as challenging adventurous terrain.    Two distances are on offer each week - the short races are between 3km and 5km and the long races between 5k and and 10km.

Cross Country attracts participants of all ages and abilities and is conducted in a relaxed manner where runners of state and national standard run along side primary school age athletes and veterans.  Handicap races are conducted during the season.  These are keenly contested as everyone has a chance of winning a major trophy for the best results over the five races.

Why Choose NSAC?

We have been the dominant club in cross country competition having won the men's and women's premiership for the past 5 seasons. We have excellent club spirit and the achievements of elite and social competitors are valued equally.
The large NSAC tent is where we gather each week before competing. There is always friendly banter and new members are well supported in their introduction to cross country running.
Joining the NSAC "family" is as simple as registering via the link. The cost of registration for the the 2023 season is only $65 which includes registration with Athletics Tasmania, Athletics South levies and a small NSAC membership fee. Note that there is a higher fee for those who use the Domain Athletic Centre for training. (All year registration includes the Cross Country season).
Our emblem is the Magpies and our club colours are proudly black and white. We have a selection of club uniforms available for purchase at affordable prices.
